This is the Downtown LP. Originally released and mishandled by Coup De Grace in 2005. It currently has some sideways Euro-Asian thing going on which I have no ties to (long story). Anyway…I recorded this in my bedroom at 23 Ocean Parkway Apt. B-23, Brooklyn. This started in June 2002. As I ventured into Manhattan to showcase the material I started getting alot of support and a British girl named Jo hooked me up with Flood and Alan Moulder. I flew over there in January 2004 with all my files and a fuzz pedal. We got on to overdubbing and mixing about 5 of the songs. Flood is a total genius and totally rewrote one of the songs (Head Down to the Truth, to be released soon). Alan is a total gentleman and patiently put up with my strange demands. He was mixing ‘Still Drowning’ and I said “my mix is still better” and he overheated for about 2 minutes and then calmly went back to work! Meanwhile back in Manhattan (I moved to 114 E. 7′th St. Apt.#11)(and I was born on 4/11/70!!!!!) a DJ at k-rock fm dropped my demos on Paul Logus (Mr. Mixer) who promptly booked me into his studio for a few months. We ended up overdubbing and mixing another 5 songs. So I was armed and ready…and my management (Magnum PR) and I bestowed upon a small upstart indy label the privilege of my new LP. Bob Ebeling

Bob Ebeling started beating on pots and pans at 2 years old and never stopped. He eventually tackled guitar, orchestration, engineering and producing. In 1993 he co-founded Ebeling Hughes, a primal psychedelic experimentation incantation that still breathes dragon fire today. In 1997 he co-founded Detroit’s Rustbelt Studios, a rock and roll mecca on the midwest map still today. His sonic touch spread and he was soon racking up album credits including Rufus Wainwright, Eminem, Remy Zero, Dead Meadow, Kid Rock, Rob Tyner(MC5), etc….. In 2002 he formed Downtown, a pseudo-band to launch his darker modern narco-rock. This took him to England where he co-produced his debut LP with Flood and Alan Moulder. Living in NYC, he continued to rack up album credits-a-plenty. In 2007 he transplanted to Virginia where we find him engineering, mixing, mastering, and writing as usual. His output is perpetual and conceptual. A lover of vintage gear and vintage tones, he is a master of the studio and of cool music. Drums, guitars, symphonic orchestration, vocals, electronics, FX and heavy tube compression are just the start of his specialties. Equally comfortable writing alternate conscious melodies or producing the next hip-hop namemaker, Ebeling is a wizard of sorts…a friendly musical wizard. Should he cast a spell it will surely resonate through time. Check out some of the bounty at myspace.com/bobbyebeling
